Market falls by 1.04% as investors lose N104bn

Market transactions on the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) opened the week weak on Monday as investors recorded a loss of N104 billion. The Exchange All Share Index and the Market Capitalization decreased by 1.04 percent while the Year-to-Date return stood at 1.26 percent.

The All Share Index closed at 29,002.06 against the previous close of 29,305.40 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.961 trillion against previous close of ₦10.065 trillion.

Volume traded decreased by 24.72 per cent from 189.742 million to 142.837 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 39.36 per cent from ₦2.226 billion to ₦1.350 billion in 3,321 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 118.316 million shares exchanged for ₦0.632 billion. Oil And Gas came next with 6.827 million shares traded for ₦0.094 billion, Industrial Goods, Consumer Goods, Conglomerates sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

FBNH, Zenithbank, Access, Skyebank and UBA were the most active stocks by volume. Oando, Vanleer, Redstarex, Continsure and Dnmeyer emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Skyebank, Honyflour, Guinness, FBNH and FO topped the losers chart.
