JUNO Foods signs MoU with Italian firm, to create 7000 jobs in Edo

JUNO Food, an indigenous food processing industry in Edo state has signed a Memorandum of  Understanding (MoU) with Italy based renowned management and consulting outfit, Stillwater Consults in its efforts to boast its production.

An MOU signed by Head, Stillwater Consult, Mr. Francis Onabis and Chairman Juno Foods Senator Victor Kassim Oyofo in Edo state, targets about 7000 jobs in the next two years.

Under the new management, JUNO Food will expand its product line from the conventional tropic cornflakes to include; beans flour, yam flour, corn flour, cassava flour, wheat flour, and custard powder.

Onabis said with the new agreement the food company will employ over 500 workers into its production factory along Benin-Okene road Agbede, Etsako West LGA, Edo State.

He added that another 3000 indirect jobs will be created with the restructuring of the food company, while 5000 hectares of farm land will be cultivated for raw materials.

Chairman Juno Foods Senator Victor Kassim Oyofo said the new partnership is to reposition the brand to be major manufacturer of corn flakes and staples flours in the southern region.

Oyofo said the company was also keying into the Federal Government’s diversification into the agric sector to boast food security and create jobs.

“The mandate is to grow the company and put it among major manufacturers of processed foods in the country with its raw materials locally sourced thus creating jobs for the nations teaming unemployed youths.”
