Market continues bearish run as investors lose N70bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.79 per cent while the Year-to-Date return stood at -10.44 per cent.

The All Share Index closed at 25,653.14 against the previous close of 25,857.06 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.831 trillion against previous close of ₦8.901 trillion as investors made a loss of N70 billion.

Volume traded decreased by 23.18 per cent from 189.726 million to 145.744 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 49.17 per cent from ₦0.905 billion to ₦1.350 billion in 2,421 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 104.773 million shares exchanged for ₦0.607 billion. Oil And Gas came next with 14.281 million shares traded for ₦0.164 billion, Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Conglomerates sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Zenithbank, Access, UBA, Eterna and Wemabank were the most active stocks by volume. Fidson, Intbrew, UBN, ETI and Afriprud emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while 7UP, Transcohot, Paintcom, Transcorp and FO topped the losers chart.
