Arewa youths quit order to Ndigbo divinely approved, we support it 100% – MASSOB

• Northern Governors disown Arewa youths, call for their arrest
• Atiku condemned quit notice to Igbos

The Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Wednesday gave 100 percent support to the order issued by some Northern youth groups mandating Igbo people residing in the Northern States of the country to vacate on or before October 1, 2017.
The Youths equally instructed Northern people doing businesses in the South-East States to be prepared to return home.
A coalition of Northern groups, including the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum had on Tuesday in Kaduna ordered All Igbo in the North to leave the region on or before October 1st.
The Order was sequel to the success of the “sit-at-home” order observed in the South-East States in Commemoration of Biafra 50 years anniversary on May 30.
Reacting to the threat, MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu said that the pro-Biafra agitators he leads were giving 100 percent support to the order.
Madu, who said that MASSOB was aware that the quit notice would come, alleged that Northern leaders sponsored their youths to threaten Igbo having seen that Biafra is a reality.
The statement read: “The latest quit notice order by the Coalition of Northern youths under the umbrella of Arewa youths is not a surprise gift to Biafrans residing in Arewa land. MASSOB is aware that such rascality will happen.
“As a matter of facts, this is the only rascality exhibited by sponsored Arewa youths to forcefully exit the people of Biafra residing in Arewa land that MASSOB will hundred percent support. Their Boko Haram tactics didn’t work as planned. MASSOB gladly received the good news of quit notice order to the people of Biafra living in Arewa land. We pledge our total support towards this divinely approved quit notice.
“MASSOB congratulates the Arewa political, religious, traditional and opinion leaders who sponsored their youths wing by using Arewa House in Kaduna for this greatest meeting of a coalition of Islamic fundamentalist. MASSOB is hereby advising the people of Biafra mostly the Igbo living in Northern Nigeria (Arewa land) to take this quit notice serious as the plan to violently kill your children, wives and demolish your investments are already perfected”.
According to Madu, MASSOB would not defend Igbo people living in the North should the Northern youths attack them for failing to obey the order.
“MASSOB will never fight or defend your lives and properties in Hausa-Fulani land. The consciousness and realities of Biafra is highly overwhelming now. The northern leaders are no longer comfortable in facing the Biafran reality, their president (Muhammad Buhari) they so much hoped to use as an obstacle to Biafra emancipation is struggling to breathe.
“As there is no other alternative to stopping Biafra freedom, the northern leaders have resorted in using their youths wing to start terrorising the people of Biafra living in the northern region. What they saw on the sit at home exercise of marking 50 years anniversary celebration of Biafra declaration by General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu marvelled them irrespective of the promises made to them by their stooges in Biafra land.
“MASSOB urge our people to start returning home now. Don’t wait till the three months of quit notice to expire. MASSOB is begging our people to re-invest their investments back to Biafra land”.
Meanwhile, governors of the nineteen northern States on Wednesday disowned a coalition of Arewa Youths, who issued ultimatum to Igbos to vacate the northern part of Nigeria within three months or be forced to leave.
Borno Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Kashim Shettima, spoke on behalf of his colleagues in Maiduguri.
The Governors said they were in touch with heads of security agencies and had taken measures that will guarantee the rights of all Nigerians to live in the 19 States in the three geo-political zones, within the north.
The Governors also called on security agencies to arrest the youths and probe the motive behind the call, saying the call by the youths was a suspicious act that fell in line with recent trend of arms catch, coup rumours which may not be coincidental.
Shettima said: “On behalf of the Governors of the 19 Northern States, we totally condemn such irresponsible pronouncements by those groups, we condemn, we disown, and we are totally distancing ourselves from those faceless groups who don’t have the mandate of the people of Northern Nigeria to make such loud pronouncements. Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is very explicit in safeguarding the rights of all Nigerians to reside in any part of the country with no hindrance whatsoever.
“But then, ‎when you see a toad dancing in the broad daylight, the drummer is not far off from the main road. We wish to call on the security agencies to beam their lenses on these groups, and unearth the faces behind the mask. Some months back, there were cases of importation of arms, illegal importation of arms intercepted at the ports, then we started hearing rumours of a coup d’etat.
“Now, a group, or a bunch of groups that do not have the mandate of the people came up with remarks capable of destabilizing the north and the country as a whole. We are one nation tied to a common destiny, the governance of Northern Nigeria is not in alignment with those pronouncements, and we will take whatever measures that is necessary to safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerians living in any part of the North.
“I am in contact to most of my colleagues, and they all talking to heads of security establishments in their respective domains because we cannot afford to take chances. We cannot afford to toil with the destiny of this country.
“The 19 Northern Governors wish to call on our brothers of Igbo descent to remain calm and go about their legitimate businesses. Nobody can dare to intimidate, harass or dehumanize them in any of the 19 Northern States, our Governors will not allow that”.
In a related development, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the ultimatum issued by the Coalition of Northern Youths, CNY, that Igbos should vacate the North in three months.
Recall that the spokesperson of a Northern Coalition group, Coalition of Northern Youths, CNY, Abdulaziz Suleiman, had ordered Igbos to vacate the region in three months.
Speaking on Tuesday, Suleiman had said the entire Northern Nigeria was tired of coexisting with the Igbos and asked that “all Igbos currently residing in any part of Northern Nigeria are hereby served notice to relocate within three months and all northerners residing in the East are advised likewise.
“The persistence for the actualization of Biafra by the unruly Igbo of South-Eastern Nigeria has lately assumed another alarming twist which involved the forceful lockdown of activities and denial of other people’s right to free movement in the South-East by the rebel Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its overt and covert sponsors.”
The former Vice President, who took to his twitter handle, on Wednesday, wrote: “Our country is too precious; our problems are too pressing to pander to divisive rhetoric.
“The ultimatum issued by a Northern youth coalition to the Igbos to quit the region is provocative and a grave threat to national security”. He said.
