Buhari in brief, closed-door meeting with Kachikwu

…Minister declines to comment after

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, has held a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He arrived the Villa at about 11:35am and walked straight to the President’s office, looking unperturbed over the controversies that arose from his letter to the presidency.
He was dressed in black suit and was not accompanied by anybody.
Kachikwu had been in the eye of the storm over a letter he wrote the President in which he alleged gross insubordination by the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),Maikanti Baru.
He had alleged that Baru awarded $25 billion NNPC contract without following due process. The contract, Kachikwu said was struck without consulting the office of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources or the board of the corporation.
Kachikwu declined to speak to journalists after the closed-door meeting. He emerged from the meeting at about 12:45 p.m.
