Nigerian bourse maintains momentum, up 0.56%, add N72bn Wednesday

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.56 per cent while the year-to-date return stood at 37.26 per cent as investors on the Exchange gained N72 billion on Wednesday.

The All Share Index closed at 36,887.20 against the previous close of 36,680.29 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦12.767 trillion against previous close of ₦12.695 trillion.

Volume traded decreased by 3.76 per cent from 259.080 million to 249.349 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 70.32 per cent from ₦3.055 billion to ₦5.203 billion in 4,119 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 212.322 million shares exchanged for ₦2.392 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 15.986 million shares traded for ₦1.031 billion, Oil And Gas, Conglomerates, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

FBNH, Sterlnbank, Diamondbnk, Stanbic and Fidelitybk were the most active stocks by volume. Berger, FBNH, Presco, UPL and Learnafrca emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Airservice, Vitafoam, Nascon, Wapic and Cadbury topped the losers chart.
