Nigerian bourse closes Tuesday positive as investors gain N6bn

 

The Nigeria Stock Exchange All-Share Index closed positive at the end of today’s trading session to peg the YTD at 10.21 per cent.

Market capitalization closed at N15.13 billion owing to the market N6 billion gain in Tuesday trading.

Despite the moderate gains, Market breadth remains in bear’s camp with 18 gainers and 37 losers.

Sectoral indices that fore grounded NSEASI positive close were NSEINDUSTR and NSELOTUS as all other indices close down beat.

Top five  slots of the gainer’s chart were occupied by PZ (5.00%), CADBURY (4.97%), LIVESTOCK (4.76%), AIICO (4.48%) and REDSTAREX (4.35%).

On the other hand, the loser’s chart was topped by CONOIL (-9.67%) trailed by UNITYBK (-9.20%), STERLNBANK (-9.05%), DIAMONDBNK (-8.52%) and FBNH (-7.26%).

FBNH, JAPAUL OIL, DIAMONDBNK, TRANSCORP and FCMB top the activities chart in terms of volume while FBNH,STANBIC, NESTLE, DANGCEM and FLOURMILL topped the trade value chart.

Transaction level in terms of volume and value improved by 77.69 per cent and 102.56 per cent respectively.

While we expect more bargain hunting amidst slight profit taking. This week should cater for dividend paying stocks ahead of earnings release, analysts at APT Securities and Funds Limited said.
