Osun needs deliverance, says Akinbade

An erstwhile Secretary to the Osun State Government, Engr Fatai Akinbade, has enjoined the people of the state to continue to work and pray for the emancipation of the state from its present bondage as foisted on them by the Rauf Aregbesola administration.

The former SSG maintained that this had become imperative in view of the harrowing experience the people of the state have been going through in the hands of the APC led administration in the state.

Akinbade, a leading governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, stated these in his hometown, Ogbaagba during a prayer session organized by the Akinbade Support Group for the actualisation of his gubernatorial ambition at the forthcoming election slated for September, this year.

“With the way things are today in our dear state, its surely needs serious physical and spiritual cleansing. This is because things have unusually, gone awry. Every sector seems to be collapsing;the state is now most often in the news for wrong reasons. Our debts profile is unfathomably too high. Yet,there are hunger, poverty and anguish all over the place” he lamented

.To this end, Akinbade charged the people to use the coming election to free themselves from the present shackles of misrule they are going through in the state

“Suffering, hunger and poverty have universal languages. So in Osun today, everybody is affected whether APC, PDP or others, except for those few ruling us. With the coming election in September this year, the much desired opportunity to effect the needed change by voting in a government that will be more pliable to the yearnings of the people, has come” he added

While emphasizing the need for prayers because of its efficacy, the onetime SSG expressed the optimism that he would eventually emerge as the governor of the state, adding he had all it takes to be the next helmsman in the state.

Debunking insinuations in some quarters, he said he was into politics to serve the people, pointing out that he never abused the opportunities he had had in the past in various places he served.

“Though I have been making money as young man through bricklaying since my Technical College days in Ile-ife and later through my engineering profession,I however, see my coming into politics as a divine call to further serve humanity. As a result, I will not disappoint you people when I get the mandate” Akinbade assured.

While the Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ola-Oluwa Local Government, Pastor Isaac Owolabi led other pastors in the Christian prayer sessions, the Chairman League of Imams in the local government, Alhaji Musa Raji, the Chief Imam of Governor’s office, Osogbo,Sultan Najeemdeen Usamot and Chief Imam of Ogbaagba, Sheik Amada Rufai

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Akinbade Support Group, Mr Also Bashir Tofa, said they decided to take to prayers so as to guarantee peace and divine success for Akinbade and the people of the state at the coming polls.
