Equity investors lost N51bn as bears fight back

The All Share Index (NSE ASI) of The Nigerian Stock Exchange(NSE) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.58%, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -10.22%at the end of market transactions on Wednesday.
The All Share Index closed at 25,716.06 against the previous close of 25,865.50 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.846 trillion against previous close of ₦8.897 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 50.18% from 220.115 million to 330.568 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 50.49% from ₦1.502 billion to ₦2.260 billion in 4,053 deals.
The Financial Services sector, as usual, led the activity chart with 300.742 million shares exchanged for ₦1.211 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 10.955 million shares traded for ₦0.836 billion, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas, Agriculture sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
FBNH, UBA, Fidelitybk, Diamondbnk and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. Tigerbrands, Eterna, Airservice, Redstarex and Unilever emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while ETI, PZ, Fidson, Fidelitybk and NPFMCRFBK topped the losers chart.
