The Federal Government and TUNS Farms Nigeria Limited, Osogbo, Osun State, have signed a N25 billion agreement on the National Egg Production Scheme (NEGPRO ).
According to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development , Chief Audu Ogbeh, the pact has become necessary because the Federal Government was about to begin school feeding programme in which every child will be given an egg a day or at least three eggs a week .
The minister stated that the deal to be financed by the Bank of Industry (BoI), will enable the farm to create a network of poultry farmers ’ out-growers scheme with a target of generating one million jobs and 50 million table eggs daily by 2018.
