CIBN holds 10th banking, finance conference

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has concluded arrangements to hold the 10th Banking and Finance Conference, slated for September 6 to 8, 2016, at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected as the Distinguished Guest of Honour, while the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, will deliver the Keynote Address and the President/Chairman of Council, CIBN, Prof. Segun Ajibola, will be the Chief Host.

The yearly conference is the flagship event of the institute, which provides a platform for all stakeholders – policy makers, regulators, operators and clients in the financial services industry to share experiences and exchange ideas on contemporary issues affecting the sector and the economy as a whole.

This year’s conference, with the theme: “Innovation in the Financial Services Industry: Driving Nigeria’s New Economy,” is an articulated effort to deepen support for the financial industry with new and current initiatives and strategies.

Also, a group of carefully selected participants from all the sectors of the economy will have the opportunity to deliberate on the key sub-themes of the conference.

Among the sub-themes are: Top 10 imports and innovative strategies for substitution; innovative financing structures for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; payments system and financial inclusion; and electronic commerce and its role in disrupting modern trade and channels.
