Colombia’s President wins 2016 Nobel Peace Prize
Colombia’s President, Juan Manual Santos, has won The Nobel Peace Prize for this year.
Santos won the award for his efforts in ending the 50-year-old conflict between the Colombian government and FARC rebels.
Santos was selected out of 360 nominees who were initially considered by the Nobel committee.
Announcing the prize, the chair of the selection committee, Kaci Kullman Five, in Norway, said the Nobel committee also gave recognition to the people of Colombia.
