Market makes 0.44% gain as investors recoup N41bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.44 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -3.64 per cent as investors recoup N41 billion from huge losses they have suffered in the first three sessions of this week.

The All-Share Index closed at 27,598.34 against the previous close of 27,478.04 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.479 trillion against previous close of ₦9.438 trillion.

Volume traded increased by 36.61 per cent from 81.914 million to 111.898 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 577.15 per cent from ₦0.593 billion to ₦4.012 billion in 2,699 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 78.068 million shares exchanged for ₦0.681 billion. Oil And Gas came next with 12.283 million shares traded for ₦2.921 billion, Conglomerates, Industrial Goods, Consumer Goods sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Guaranty, Zenithbank, Transcorp, Hmarkins and Fidelitybk were the most active stocks by volume. Guaranty, Intbrew, NEM, Caverton and FCMB emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Trippleg, Afriprud, Neimeth, Livestock and Fidson topped the losers chart.
