Market dip further by 0.66% as investors lose N62bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization continued its downward movement on Thursday as they decreased by 0.66 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -5.58 per cent.

The All Share Index closed at 27,044.36 against the previous close of 27,223.08 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.289 trillion against previous close of ₦9.351 trillion as investors made a loss of N62 billion.

Volume traded decreased by 44.49 per cent from 202.705 million to 112.523 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 87.38 per cent from ₦1.259 billion to ₦2.360 billion in 2,684 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 60.217 million shares exchanged for ₦0.292 billion. Healthcare came next with 24.273 million shares traded for ₦0.022 billion, Consumer Goods, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Maybaker, Sterlnbank, Transcorp, Access and Fidelitybk were the most active stocks by volume. Honyflour, Maybaker, Learnafrca, NAHCO and Diamondbnk emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Ashakacem, UPL, NASCON, UAC-PROP and Unitybnk topped the losers chart.
