Investors stake N2.635bn on shares as market closes the week negative
The Market Capitalisation and the All-Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed the week at N9.009 trillion and 26,170.88 basis points as against N9.027 at trillion and 26,221.75 respectively on Thursday, translating to a loss of N18 billion.
A total of 2.259 billion shares valued at N2.635 billion exchanged in 3,346.00 deals
The stock that appreciated most in the day was MOBIL which rose from its opening value of N185.01 and closed at N190 as it added N4.99 to its per share value; FLOURMILL followed with a gain of N0.87 to close at N18.92 from its opening value of N18.05; FO which opened the day trading at N104.05 closed at N104.5 as it was marked up by N0.45; ZENITHBANK opened the day trading activities at N14.7 and closed at N15.13 as it added N0.43 while INTBREW which added N0.36 to its opening value of N19.53 closed at N19.89.
On the other side, 7UP led the day decliners as it was marked down by N7.54 and from its opening value of N150.86, it closed at N143.32; WAPCO which began the day trading at N52.14, closed at N48, having recorded a loss of N4.14; OKOMUOIL opened the day trading at N44.7 and closed at N42.47 as it made a loss of N2.23; CADBURY closed the day trading at N11.12 from its opening value N11.7 as it recorded a loss of N0.58; STANBIC closed the week at N16.5 from the opening price of N16.85 as it recorded a loss of N0.35.
The most traded stock of the day was STDINSURE as it traded 2.117 million shares valued at N1.058 billion; ZENITHBANK traded 22.392million shares at N337.318 million shares; STERLNBANK accounted for 18.581 million shares valued at N14.863 million; GUARANTY’s 18.007 million shares attracted N394.817million while investors in UBA traded 13.206 million shares valued at N56.792million.
