Market opens the week 0.40% down as investors lose N35bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.40 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at -6.47 per cent as investors opened the week trading with a loss of N35 billion.
The All-Share Index closed at 25,136.63 against the previous close of 25,238.01 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.699 trillion against previous close of ₦8.734 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 44.82 per cent from 245.386 million to 135.404 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 70.55 per cent from ₦2.313 billion to ₦0.681 billion in 2,909 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 113.574 million shares exchanged for ₦0.33 billion. Oil and Gas came next with 8.401 million shares traded for ₦0.141 billion, Conglomerates, Consumer Goods, Agriculture sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Diamondbnk, FBNH, Fidelitybk, Access and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. UCAP, UBN, ETI, Mansard and UACN emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while FO, Livestock, NEM, Sterlnbank and AIICO topped the losers chart.
