Market remains bearish, down by 0.03%

Equity transaction on the Nigerian Stock Exchange continued its bearish run from where it began the second quarter of the year on Monday as the All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.03 per cent on Tuesday while the year-to-date return stood at -5.99 per cent as investors made a loss of N3 billion.
The All-Share Index closed at 25,266.15 against the previous close of 25,273.03 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.742 trillion against previous close of ₦8.745 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 84.47 per cent from 97.694 million to 180.220 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 137.29 per cent from ₦0.683 billion to ₦1.620 billion in 2,917 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 98.527 million shares exchanged for ₦0.481 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 27.505 million shares traded for ₦0.497 billion, Healthcare, Conglomerates, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Glaxosmith, Flourmill, Access, UBA and Fidelitybk were the most active stocks by volume. CAP, Nascon, Livestock, Learnafrca and Cadbury emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while FO, Honyflour, Mansard, Neimeth and Afriprud topped the losers chart.
