Dickson in Port Harcourt, mourns two Ijaw leaders

Bayelsa Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson on Tuesday led a high powered delegation of Ijaw leaders to Port Harcourt to condole with the families of two key political leaders in Ijaw nation, Chief Gordon Bozimo and Dr. Joseph Egberika who both passed on recently.
At the home of Bozimo who was a former chairman of the Governing Board of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Dickson described him as a patriot and committed Ijaw leader who made massive contributions to the development of the Ijaw Nation.
While at the home of Egberika‎, the governor extolled his virtues of integrity, selfless service and dedication to the struggle for a better Ijaw Nation.
He lamented that their death has left a huge vacuum in the clamour for restructuring, unity and resource control which people of the Ijaw Nation are seriously yearning for.
The governor who will formally receive the body of Bozimo in Yenagoa as part of the burial arrangement was accompanied on the visit by Chief Francis Doupkola, Chief T.K Okorotie, Chief George Okeiranya and Dr. George Fente.
Also on the entourage were; Prof. Steve Azaiki, Chief Godwin Odumgba, Marie Ebikake, Secretary to the State Government, Chief Serena Dokubo-Spiff and the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite.
Bozimo who was also a member of the Board of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) died last June at the age of 67 at a hospital in Arkansas, United States of America.
