Nigerian bourse closes Thursday green as Index gains 27bps
The equities market on The Nigerian Stock Exchange turned around on Thursday as the market recorded a gain of 27bps to peck the YTD return at 41.36 per cent.
Market capitalization similarly turned up to settle at N13.21trn as Market breadth closed impressively in favour of the bull with count of 26 gainers as against 9losers (2.89).
Sector performance indices closed in green with the exception of NSEASEM which dropped by 1.42 per cent.
Stocks of CUTIX, TOTAL, MOBIL, WAPCO and CUSTODIAN top the gainer’s chart while LINKASSURE top the loser’s chart again with 4.35 per cent followed by OMOMORBNK (3.85 per cent), HONYFLOUR (3.20 per cent), LIVESTOCK (2.30 per cent) and FIDELITYBK (1.62 per cent).
TRANSCORP, FBNH, FIDELITYBK, UBA and FCMB were the top traded stocks in terms of volume while DANGCEM, GUARANTY, FBNH, NESTLE and UBA occupied the top five slots on the value-based charts.
Though Volume dropped by 24.31 per cent on Thursday’s to close at 322 million from previous level of 426 million, the equities market closed on a positive note as expected.
Value on the other hand increased by 70.61 per cent to close at 3.62 billion from previous level of 2.12 billion.
