Activist tasks EFCC to investigate Oshiomhole, sues him over alleged graft

An Edo State-based activist and anti-corruption crusader, Bishop Osadolor Ochei, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole over alleged corruption.

Ochei said on Sunday at a press conference in Benin City that he was in possession of 86 ‘exhibits’ and had filed a suit against Oshiomhole at an Abuja Federal High Court.

The case, with suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/628/2018, has the anti-graft agency and the ex-governor as first and second respondents.

The lawsuit followed EFCC’s alleged refusal to treat a petition earlier written by the plaintiff dated October 28, 2016 wherein he alleged economic and financial crimes against Oshiomhole.

In an ex-parte motion, the applicant is praying the court to compel the EFCC to commence the investigation and prosecution of the former governor in pursuant to Sections 6(b) & (h) and 13(2) of the EFCC Act, 2004.
