Bringing members of other parties to cabinet may create a problem Oyetola

Osun State Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, on Monday evening attributed the need to assemble individuals who bring the vision of his administration into fruition to the delay in constituting his cabinet.

He said very soon, he would forward the names of commissioner-nominees to the Osun State House of Assembly after the completion of all necessary arrangements.

Speaking during a chat with journalists at his Iragbiji country home, Oyetola also said his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) would have input in the formation of the cabinet as individuals will be nominated from the local government level.

According to him, “I will run the all-inclusive government because my party will have a say. Bringing members of other parties may create a problem. I will listen to ideas from them. We have given the party the opportunity to pick the commissioners.”

“I will welcome ideas from other parties. The process has commenced. We will look at the list. I will also screen before I send it to the House of Assembly. The process had commenced. It will be completed,” Oyetola remarked.

“We will do more. In the area of health, we are doing badly. In infrastructure, we have continued from where the last administration stopped. Osun wants to develop tourism potentials of the state. Osun is trying to develop the mining sector. We are formulating a policy on mining that will recognise artisanal miners, the middlemen and the big investors.”

“What I saw was bad during my visit to the mining sites. We would launch our mining policy soon. I have written to all heads of security agencies in the state, including the presidency alerting them of the dangers posed by miners.”

“In the area of security, South West to launch new security outfit soon. Not less than 200 vehicles would be donated to the security agencies. We are also bringing into the security local people especially to monitor our forests”, Oyetola asserted.
