The Corporate Farmers International (CFI) on Monday in Lagos announced its partnership with the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) on certification and training in agricultural commodity trading to enhance value in the sector.

The Managing Partner and Co-Founder of CFI, Mr Akin Alabi, said that a Memotandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at giving Nigerian agricultural students and commodity traders the opportunity to become professionals was officially signed on Oct. 9,2019.

“This is a new beginning for our Nigerian agricultural students and commodity traders to become experts in the field of agriculture to enable them practice anywhere in the world.

“The MoU is on membership recruitment, certification and training in agricultural commodity trading and features. This is an opportunity to further enhance and impact more value to the agriculture sector.

“This is aimed at promoting professionalism among prospective and existing agropreneurs  across universities, polytechnics, commodity traders, cooperative societies, private institutions and government organisations,’’ he said in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

According to Alabi, the CIS President and Chairman of Council, Mr Dapo Adekoje, applauded the initiative.

He quoted Adekoje as saying that “this is a timely partnership now that President Mohammadu Buhari is more committed to agricultural development.’’ (NAN)
