EFCC grills NEPC Executive Secretary, Yewande Sadiku, for hours over contract fraud
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mrs Yewande Sadiku, was on Monday, grilled for over nine hours by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Sadiku is under investigation for fraud running into millions of naira.
The NEPC boss arrived at the headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja around 11am and was grilled till past 7pm by a team of operatives of the commission over wide ranging corruption issues.
According to The Punch source, Sadiku was questioned over abuse of office, contract fraud running into several millions of naira, and unearned frivolous allowances.
The source noted, “Sadiku got to the EFCC office around 11 in the morning and was interrogated over a wide ranging issues bordering on contract fraud and unearned allowances. She is still with our detectives as we speak (at 7:42pm).
“She is cooperating and has volunteered statement but there is still a lot of grounds to be covered.”
When contacted, EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the development but declined further comment on the case.
