BoT pleads with PDP Members: Accept in good faith choice of Okowa Atiku’s running mate
The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged members of the party to accept in good faith the choice of Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate.
It would be recalled that Okowa was on Thursday unveiled by Atiku, the party’s presidential candidate, in Abuja.
The BoT, in a statement by its Chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin, urged all members of the party to accept the decision in good faith and give the strongest support to Atiku as President of Nigeria and Dr Okowa as his Vice President.
He further harped on the need for both Muslims and Christians in the country to come together to give their support to Atiku and Okowa.
According to Senator Jibrin, “this decision must be generally accepted as the act of God who gives life to who He wants and takes away life from who He wants.”
Jubrin, who said that the PDP is greater than any party in Nigeria, especially the All Progressives Congress (APC), added that “all PDP members must come together to unite for PDP to take over from APC government of Buhari.
“All Muslims and Christians must come together and forget any religious differences and regard Nigeria as one entity.
“All Nigerians should vote for PDP to ensure that Atiku and Okowa are fully accepted and voted for.”
