  PDP sets up 128-member campaign council for Osun governorship election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a 128-member National Campaign Council for the Osun State governorship election coming next month. The council is led by Bayelsa State Governor Duoye Diri.

The constitution of the campaign council was announced in a statement released by the party’s National Organising Secretary Umar Bature, in Abuja, on Monday.

Members of the Council include Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Rivers State Nyesom Wike, Akwa-Ibom State Governor Emmanuel Udom, Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, among others.

According to the statement, the council will be officially inaugurated by the party’s National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

The governorship election, which is scheduled for July 16, has the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Ademola Adeleke of the PDP as the leading candidates.
