Stock market records N56bn value depreciation

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.61 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -6.94 per cent even as the investors recorded value erosion of N56 billion in the day trading.

The All Share Index closed at 26,655.48 against the previous close of 26,818.77 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.173 trillion against previous close of ₦9.229 trillion.

Volume traded increased by 23.37 per cent from 320.999 million to 396.030 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 26.20 per cent from ₦2.106 billion to ₦2.658 billion in 5,513 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 294.93 million shares exchanged for ₦1.813 billion. Conglomerates came next with 42.424 million shares traded for ₦0.057 billion, Oil And Gas, Consumer Goods, Agriculture sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

UBA, Access, Transcorp, Oando and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. Conoil, Neimeth, Uniondicon, Cutix and Sterlnbank emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Vitafoam, Diamondbnk, Transcorp, FO and FCMB topped the losers chart.
