Come closer to God, Dickson tells Bayelsans

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State over the weekend urged the people of the state  to draw closer to God and cultivate the habit of thanksgiving, as it was one of the avenues of attracting more blessings upon their lives.

Dickson stated this at the last edition of the monthly praise night for this year at the Palace of Melchizedek in Toru Orua, Sagbama local government area.

Describing the act of thanksgiving as significant, the Governor noted that the participation in the last edition of the monthly Praise Night for the year was crucial, to enable the people thank God for all His mercies and grace upon their lives.

He, therefore, expressed the need for the people of the state make out time to pray and worship God in the subsequent editions of the monthly praise night in the coming year and beyond.

According to him, “this praise night is significant because it is the last though not the least for a glorious year 2016.”

Commenting on his experiences in the out-going year, Dickson urged Bayelsans to learn lessons from the year 2016, as it was a demonstration of “What God Can Do” particularly in the political activities of the country.

Highlighting the last governorship election in the state and events leading to his victory at the Supreme Court, Governor Dickson attributed what he called “the firece battle for political power as a search for the golden fleece.”

While wishing all Bayelsans a merry Christmas and a prosperous 2017, he expressed optimism that the New Year would bring forth good tidings and bountiful blessings.

In his exhortation, Bishop David Kings in a message titled,”Sources of Praise” drawn from the book of Psalm 67 vs 5 to 7, noted that, genuine praise to God brings positive results.

Bishop Kings enumerated our sources of praise, which include, the powerful works of God, practical wisdom of God, precious works of God and the physical works of God.

Highpoints of the praise night were the choir ministrations by the King of Glory Chapel Choir, the Palace of Melchizedek  Chapel Choir.
