Stock market down by 0.69%, as investors lose N48bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.69 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -3.12 per cent at the end of Tuesday transactions.

The All-Share Index closed at 26,036.24 against the previous close of 26,217.18 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.973 trillion against previous close of ₦9.021 trillion, translating to a loss of N48 billion by investors.

Volume traded increased by 43.37% from 143.523 million to 205.771 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 265.50% from ₦0.756 billion to ₦2.763 billion in 2,914 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 152.259 million shares exchanged for ₦0.623 billion.

Consumer Goods came next with 23.754 million shares traded for ₦1.844 billion, Conglomerates, Industrial Goods, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Fbnh, Unitykap, Transcorp, Aiico and Fidelitybk were the most active stocks, by volume. Unilever, Afriprud, Caverton, Unitybnk and Vitafoam emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Pz, Oando, Continsure, Uba and Glaxosmith topped the losers chart.
