Police not ready for Tu Face protest in Lagos – Owoseni

Nigerian popular hip pop artiste, Innocent Idibia known as Tu Face, has been banned from protesting in Lagos over the alleged inability of the Federal a government to handle the economy.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr. Fatai Owoseni, who disclosed this, said the command was not ready for Tu Face’s protest.

Tu Face had announced on his Instagram page that he would lead a nationwide protest on February 5 against the Federal Government’s handling of the economy, among other issues.

The planned protest has been receiving the support of many prominent Nigerians who have promised to take part in it.

But CP Owoseni said the police have received an intelligence report that criminals were planning to hijack the process and embark on violence in Lagos.

The police commissioner said, “We know that Tuface does not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand.”
