Market gains N63bn as Zenith emerges most active stock

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.73 per cent, while the year-to-date return stood at -6.93 per cent.

The All-Share Index closed at 25,012.08 against the previous close of 24,829.59 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦8.656 trillion against previous close of ₦8.593 trillion.

Volume traded increased by 47.40 per cent from 186.005 million to 274.173 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 94.28 per cent from ₦1.749 billion to ₦3.398 billion in 2,856 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 245.158 million shares exchanged for ₦2.386 billion.

Conglomerates came next with 9.491 million shares traded for ₦0.012 billion, Consumer Goods, Industrial Goods, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Zenithbank, Sterlnbank, ETI, Fidelitybk and Transcorp were the most active stocks by volume. Nestle, FO, FBNH, Vitafoam and Betaglas emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while 7Up, Custodyins, UCAP, Dangflour and Oando topped the losers chart.
