Eminent Nigerians set for FOWOSO Summit

Governors of Ondo and Ekiti States, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN and Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Dr. Munirat Ogunlayi of the World Bank, the Chief Executive Officer, JOF Nigeria Limited, Mr. Segun Olugboyegun, the Alani of Idoani, Oba (Dr)Major -General (rtd) Olufemi Olutoye JP, OFR and Yeyeluwa of Idoani, Prof. Omotayo Olutoye, will lead over 5000 participants to the Forum for Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Appointees (FOWOSO) Summit, holding on 5th and 6th December, 2018 in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

A statement by the Special Assistant on Media to the Wife of the Governor, Miss Tobi Fademi said the Summit with the theme, “Unlocking  hidden potentials in women: A task for all”, will expose women to a variety of situations in the society and how they can make the best use of the circumstance, adding that opinion leaders, women advocates, accomplished entrepreneurs and career driven male and female personalities are to deliver keynote address and lectures on carefully selected topics and issues that border on the feminine gender and the society.

The media aide said, the founder of the Forum and convener of the Summit, the Wife of Ondo State Governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and other distinguished personalities including Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Lola Fagbemi and the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Princesse Oladunni Odu, Chairman,

Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (OSOPADEC) Hon. Gbenga Edema will encourage, motivate, energise and support women on the cogent needs required  to adapt and make them more useful for the society, live healthy lives and be of immense assistance to their families and the society.

According to her, “the Wife of the Governor has promised to ensure more women inclusive government in the State, a move she had been championing for very long, the Summit will unveil to the women folk several opportunities that abound within and outside their environment.

No doubt  participants at the Summit will go home with fresh ideas that will make lasting impact there are several other fascinating packages included as attractions to the Summit.

The event will also provide an opportunity  for evaluating the efforts of FOWOSO at re-activating the potentials of Ondo State women, particularly those at the grassroots”.

Fademi noted that within a year of establishing FOWOSO, the Forum has impacted on the lives on thousands of women and youths across the eighteen local government areas of the State, through leadership training, skill acquisition, empowerment , ICT and technology empowerment, etc., adding that this signifies a new dawn in the State and all efforts are geared towards complementing the programmes and activities of the Akeredolu led administration in bringing governance nearer to the people and ensuring they have access to the dividends of democracy.
