Market opens the week negative, losing N12bn

The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.13 per cent , while the Year-to-Date return stood at -3.64 per cent, as investors even as the market made a loss of N12 billion.

The All Share Index closed at 27,599.48 against the previous close of 27,634.48 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.479 trillion against previous close of ₦9.491 trillion.

Volume traded decreased by 41.62 per cent from 243.802 million to 142.339 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 41.19 per cent from ₦2.430 billion to ₦1.429 billion in 3,695 deals.

The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 101.877 million shares exchanged for ₦0.43 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 13.748 million shares traded for ₦0.837 billion, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.

Diamondbnk, FCMB, Access, Transcorp and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. Uniondicon, Mansard, Ashakacem, NASCON and Mcnichols emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Vitafoam, Diamondbnk, Maybaker, Stanbic and UBN topped the losers chart.
