Investors gain N64bn in moderate trade
Investors on the Nigerian Stock Exchange recorded a gain of N64 billion at the end of Thursday transactions as the Market capitalization closed at N9.371 trillion from the close of N9.307 trillion on Wednesday.
The All Share Index added 0.69 percent or 186.7 point to close at 27,284.83 points compared with a 1.37 percent loss recorded previously to close at 27,098.18 point.
Top in day’s traders were GTB which traded 34.3 million shares worth N641.9 million, Unity Bank which sold 29.6 million shares worth N35.4 million and FCMB which exchanged 22.2 million shares valued at N35.2 million.
Market recorded 18 gainers and 17 losers. Unity Bank led the gainers as it appreciated by 9.09 per cent or 10 kobo to close at N1.20, Nestle followed with a gain of 8.98 per cent or N68 to close at N825, while Total Oil gained 4.99 per cent or N8.26 to close at N173.63.
On the other hand, Red Star Express Plc led the day’s 17 losers as it depreciated by 4.99 percent or 21 kobo to close at N4 per share, Cadbury Plc lost 4.98 percent or 97 kobo to close at N18.51 per share while Honeywell Flour Mills Plc dropped 2.94 percent or 5 kobo to close at N1.65 per share.
In all, investors traded 182.7 million shares valued at N1.6 billion in 3,631 deals compared to a total of 261 million shares valued at N1.22 billion exchanged in 3,591 deals on Wednesday.
