Market regains strength, adds N224bn

From the closing value of N9.881trillion on Monday, market closed at N10.105 trillion on Tuesday; recoding a gain of N224 billion even as the market All-Share Index rose from 28,769.90 basis points with which it opened on Monday to 29,422.71 at the close of trading today.

The market transacted a total of 533.317 million shares in 5,736 deals with the value attached of N6.789 billion.

The five top gainers for the day are NESTLE with a value addition of N21.12 for its value to move from N794.88 to N816 per share; DANGCEM  rose from its opening value N179.99 to close at N185, having  added N5.01 per share to its opening value. GUINNESS          which opened the day trading activities at N99.9 and closed at N104 as it added N4.1to its opening value. WAPCO closed at N77.9 as it added N2.9 to its opening value of N75.00 while TOTAL which traded at N177 the previous day closed at N179.3 as it gained N2.3 per share.

The top losers of the day was led by TRANSEXPR which opened at N1.57 but closed at N1.43 as it was marked down by investors by N0.14; CAVERTON lost N0.06 to close at N1.4 from its opening value of N1.4; HONYFLOUR lost N0.06 to close at N1.83 from its opening value of N1.89; UNITYBNK opened at 1.17 and closed at N1.12 as it lost N0.05; NEM recorded a loss of N0.05 to close at N0.99 from its opening value of 1.04.                                              –

GUARANTY  traded the highest shares of 104.952 million with the value attached of N2.305 billion; UBA  traded 104.929 million shares valued at  N513.045 million; ZENITHBANK                 followed with 83.745 shares at N1.392 billion; FBNH’s                 75.562 million shares attracted   N326.773 million while ACCESS  traded 48.253 million shares valued at     N291.940 million.
