
Equities transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) today reverted to negative territory as investors recorded a loss of N44 billion as the Market Capitalisation of the Exchange closed at N9.867 trillion from N9.911 trillion on Tuesday even as the All-Share Index closed at 28,730.42 from the previous day’s of 28,857.34. A total of 190.302 million of shares were trade at N2.342 billion in 4,578.00 deals.
The topmost gainers on the day was TOTAL which opened at N181.48 and closed at N182 as it added N0.52; FLOURMILL opened at N21.5 and closed at N21.99 having added N0.49; NASCON closed at N8.00 from its opening value of N7.67as it added N0.33; TRANSCORP followed with a gain of N0.14 to close at N1.61 from the value of N1.47 it began the day trading. PZ, from N21.57 opening value it closed at N21.7as it added N0.13 to its opening value for the day.
The day’s top losers was led by FO which opened the day trading activities at N163.31 and closed at N155.75 having recorded loss of N7.56; DANGCEM made a loss of N1.00 and from its opening value of N191.00, it closed at N190.00; GLAXOSMITH was marked down by N0.77 and from N18.77 it began the day trading, it left the market at N18.00; NB recorded a price drop of N0.71 and from its opening value N133.76, it closed at N133.05. CADBURY completed the top-five loser chart by dropping N0.5 and from the value of N16.5 per share ot ended at N16.00 per share.
The most traded stock of the day was ACCESS with 33.263 million shares valued at N185.964 million, ZENITHBANK followed with 22.475 million shares valued at N369.157 million; GUARANTY traded 19.339 million shares valued at N462.281 million; FBNH traded 17.071 million shares at N63.270 million while TRANSCORP traded 13.186 million shares at N20.761 million
