Market bleeds further as investors lose N92bn

The bears continued its onslaught on the equities market as investors recorded a loss of N92 billion on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday as Market Capitalisation of the Exchange closed at N9.692 trillion from N9.784 of the previous day even as the All-Share Index closed at 28,221.18 basis points as against 28,488.56 on Tuesday.

On the whole the market was able to trade 309.720 million shares valued at N2.084billion in 3,934 deals.

The FLOURMILL was the most appreciated stock in the day as it added N0.2 to its opening price of N21.5 and closed at N21.7 per share; DANGSUGAR, from the opening value of N6.65, it closed at N6.8 as it added N0.15; PREMBREW closed at N2.95 from its opening value of N2.81 as it added N0.14; SKYEBANK, from N0.72, it closed at N0.78 as it was marked up by N0.06 and NB from its opening value of N135.04, it closed at N135.1 as it added N0.06

On the flip side, DANGCEM led the losers for the day as it moved from its opening value of N190 per share to N187.5     as it was marked down by N2.5; TOTAL, from the opening value of N182 per share, it closed at N180 as it suffered a loss of N2.00 per share. STANBIC recorded a loss of N0.72 per share and from N14.92, it closed at N14.2 per share; ZENITHBANK which came to the market at N16.14 closed the day trading at N15.5 as it was marked down by N0.64 while OANDO which began the day trading at N5.96 closed at N5.39 as it recorded N0.57per share loss.

The most traded stock of the day was NEM with 93.335 million shares valued at N93.335 million; UBA traded 40.735 million shares valued at N182.510 million; SKYEBANK traded 35.949 million shares at N28.025 million; TRANSCORP            traded 25.499 million shares valued at N36.461 million and FBNH accounted for 18.033 million share valued at N63.057 million.
