Market opens the week weak as investors lose N68bn

From Market Capitalisation of N9.631 trillion and All-Share Index of 28,042.99 with which the market opened on Monday it closed the first trading day of the week today at N9.563 trillion and 27,843.00 translating to a loss of N68 billion for investors in the day trading. A total of 331.691 million shares valued at N4.750 billion in 4,114 deals

The most appreciated stock of the day was TOTAL  which moved from its opening value of N181.5 to close at N200.09 as it gained N18.59 per share; OKOMUOIL opened the day at N33.66 to close at N35 having added N1.34; FLOURMILL opened at N20.2 and closed at N21.5 as it was marked up by N1.3 per share. UNILEVER began the day trading at N34.65 and closed at N35 as it added N0.35 to its opening value and DANGFLOUR which opened the day trading at N4.65        per share closed at N4.9 as it gained N0.25 per share.

On the other side, NESTLE led the day topmost decliners as it moved from its opening value of N850 per share to close at N837.5 as it was marked down by N12.5; NB opened at N137.99 and closed at N134 as it recorded a loss of N3.99 per share; GUINNESS opened at N94.5 and closed at N93 as it recorded price loss of N1.5 per share; PZ closed at N17.6 from the opening value of N18.6 as it was marked down by N1 while CADBURY  which opened at N14.27 left the day trading at N13.56 as it recorded a loss of N0.71 per share.

The most traded stock of the day was UBA which accounted for 101.700 million shares at N466.324 million; FCMB traded 56.758 million shares at N84.317million; GUARANTY trade 52.267 million shares valued at N1.263 billion; SKYEBANK traded 20.121 million shares at N14.254 million while ZENITHBANK traded 15.512 million shares at the value attached of N259.158 million.
