Market sustains positive run as investors gain N24.9bn

For second day running, equity transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed positive as investors on the Exchange gained N24.9 billion as the All-Share Index (ASI) and Market Capitalisation closed at 27,389.02 basis points and N9.406 trillion respectively on Tuesday compared to 27,316.52 basis points and N9.381 trillion  recorded on Monday.

A total of 235.887 million shares valued at N2.230 billion were traded by investors in 3,512 deals

The most appreciated stock of  the day was TOTAL which moved from the opening value of N240.00 to close at N248.00 as it added N8.00 per share to its opening value; NB came in at N132.92 to close at N134.4 as it was marked up by N1.48 per share; GUARANTY opened the day trading at N24.16 and closed at N24.59 per share as it gained N0.43 per share; ZENITHBANK which began the day trading at N15.00 per share closed at N15.25 as it was marked up by N0.25 while OKOMUOIL closed at N36.25 from its opening value of N36.00 as it added N0.25 per share.

On the other hand, PRESCO which came in at N38.85 closed at N36.96 as it recorded per share depreciation of N1.89; CONOIL which opened at N22.77 closed at N21.65 having been marked down by N1.12 per share. NESTLE opened at N825.02 but closed at N824.00 as it was marked down by N1.02 per share; ETI which opened at N10.82 per share closed at N10.56  having recorded a loss of N0.26 while CHAMPION ended the day trading at N2.85 per share from its opening value of N3.1 as it lost N0.25 of its opening value.

The most traded stock of the day was ZENITHBANK which accounted for 67.053 million shares valued at N1.019 billion; ACCESS traded 46.724 million shares at N259.259 million; UBA traded 15.654 million valued at N67.622 million; FBNH accounted for 12.943 million valued at N40.400 million while STERLNBANK  traded 12.072 million shares valued at N12.292 million.
