
Trading activities on the Nigerian Stock Exchange began on a positive note today as the All-Share Index closed at 27,812.06 against the previous close of 27,650.32 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.552 trillion against previous close of ₦9.496 trillion on Friday, translating to a value addition of N56 billion.
The All-Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.58 per cent today while the Year-to-Date return stood at -2.90 per cent.
Volume traded decreased by 31.29 per cent from 314.603 million on Friday to 216.174 million at the end of today’s trading while the value of stock traded increased by 2.09 per cent from ₦2.768 billion to ₦2.826 billion in 3,316 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 180.82 million shares exchanged for ₦1.449 billion. Conglomerates came next with 17.131 million shares traded for ₦0.023 billion, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas, Industrial Goods sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
FBNH, Access, Guaranty, Transcorp and Zenithbank were the most active stocks by volume. Transcorp, UBA, Eterna, AIICO and Access emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while 7Up, Livestock, Dangflour, FCMB and ETI topped the losers chart.
