
The two-day Delta State Economic and Investment Summit will commence tomorrow as part of activities marking the 25th anniversary of the creation of the state. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will represent President Muhammadu Buhari at the event.
The State Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah who spoke on the issue said that Prof. Osinbajo was expected to declare the two-day summit open on ammadu Buhari.
He that four governors, ministers and other players in the private sector would also be in attendance, adding that former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Charles Soludo, is the keynote speaker.
Ukah added that the committee set up by the state government for the celebration of the 25th year anniversary of the creation of the state had raised N165 million from corporate organisations and private individuals for the celebration of the state’s silver jubilee.
He said that what they had raised was a far cry from the estimated budget of N250 million, insisting that the committee would work with what was sourced.
