Joseph Yobo joins Kano Pillars

Former Super Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo, has signed for Kano Pillars Football Club as a player.

As a way of promoting and adding value to the local league and further make it more competitive, the deal makes him an ambassador of the League Management Company (LMC) and this  will see him feature in the domestic league.

Before he quit active football of recent, Yobo played for Everton in England in defence for 10 years between 2002 and 2012, was released by Fenerbache in 2014 after an unsuccessful loan spell with Norwich in the Premier League.

The 35-year-old, who has retired from international football, would be playing club football after two years of leaving Fenerbahce.

Kano Pliiars will be the fifth club and country that the 101-time capped international will have plied his trade in Belgium before spells in England, France and Turkey. He is one of the most capped Nigerian football player.
