Ogbulie presents ‘Inside Nigerian Banks’, a book in honour of Okereke-Onyiuke
Plans have been concluded for the presentation of ‘Inside Nigerian Banks’, a book written by the Editor of BusinessWorld Newspaper, Mr Nik Ogbulie in honour of the former Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Professor Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke.
The presentation will take place on Thursday September 29, 2016 by 10.30 am, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking on the book, Ogbulie said: “It is my contribution to the spate of the ongoing documentation of activities in the banking industry. The book is not another re-harsh of the unending anthologies of the financial sector, but a carefully thought-out sequence of the inside activities in the banks, especially as they concern the intermediation needs in the industry”.
“The book is divided into eight chapters and concluded in 317 pages. The last four Governors of the CBN are deeply analyzed in an attempt to explain the roles they played in the state of our economy.
“I humbly wish to inform you that the book has been dedicated to Professor Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, former Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, because of her unflinching role and uncommon commitment in building an exchange that afforded a platform where banks freely raised funds and even came back , thereafter, to access more funds. This opportunity buoyed the resolve of banks and their stakeholders to remain strong in business up to today”.
“This gathering will offer us the opportunity of meeting with the cream of the operators in the industry as many of the stakeholders in the industry have indicated their interest to attend. Key institution kingpins will grace the occasion.
According to Ogbulie, the book will be reviewed by Mr Steve Nwosu, DMD Sun Newspapers, while Boason Omofaye, Business Editor of Channel Television will anchor the ceremony.
The President of Council of the NSE, Mr Aig Imoukhuede, is billed to be the chairman of the event with Professor Okereke-Onyiuke as Special Guest and will be supported by Jibril Aku, Group Head, Strategy ETI, Lome, among other prominent Nigerians.
This gathering is expected to attract the cream of the operators in the industry as many of the stakeholders in the industry have indicated their interest to attend. “Key institution kingpins will grace the occasion”, the author said.
