Ambode, BOI, others to bag CICAN award
The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, Honourable Kehinde Odeneye of the House of Representatives, Bank of Industry (BOI) and Orlean Invest African, would join one other prominent Nigerian and companies that would be recognized at the sixth edition of the yearly Crystal Nite of Excellence of the Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN), which holds on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the LCCI Exhibition Centre, Marwa Garden.
The event theme; “Diversifying the Nigerian Economy through the Industrial Sector”, will also discuss the diversification of the Nigeria Economy through the Industrial Sector”.
Honourables Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Okechukwu Enelamah, is expected as the Special Guests of Honour, while the President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Dr Frank Udemba Jacobs is to chair the occasion.
Eminent Nigerians like Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, the Acting MD of Bank of Industry (BoI), Mr. Waheed Olagunju, the DG Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Mr. Muda Yusuf and the Chairman Cosmetics &Toiletries Group of MAN, Mr. Ikpong Umoh are to deliver papers on various subjects with regard to revamping the country’ s economy through diversification.
Industrial giants such as; NatnuDo Limited and Orlean Invest Africa, Bank of Industry (BOI), as well as parliamentarians are among the few distinguished institutions and individuals to be honoured this year with excellence award .
According to the statement by CICAN, other people to be given awards include Al_Hikmah University, Honourable Kehinde Odeneye of the House of Representatives, Hon Olulade Oluomo of the Lagos House of Assembly and Lonadek Limited, among others.
The statement listed some of the past award recipients to include, the Olofa of Ofaland, Dangote Group, Phoenix Group, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) among others institutions and individuals across the country. The CICAN Excellence Award was initiated to encourage outstanding institutions and individuals in the fields of industry, commerce and Investments to strive for excellence in their operations.
It will be recalled that the former Minister of Industry, Trade and Investments, Olusegun Aganga, attended the 2015 edition of the award as the special guest of honour.
CICAN has over 80 members in print, online and electronics media, with its headquarters in Lagos and branches in Abuja and other states across the country.
