NASD OTC Securities Exchange has expressed confidence that tenure of the newly inaugurated President of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Mr Oluwaseyi Abe will encourage capacity building, stimulate activity, and encourage exercise of the highest ethics in the financial industry.

On Wednesday 28 September, 2016, CSN held its 9th Investiture Ceremony to honor the 9th President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Mr. Oluwaseyi Emmanuel Abe, FCS.

The NASD said the appointment of Abe comes at unarguably the most difficult time in the nation’s economy faced with challenge of diversifying the economy, developing alternative foreign exchange revenue generating sources and substituting imports with local value add products.

“To succeed in addressing these challenges, Nigeria needs to develop key infrastructure that can support local industry. Both infrastructural and industrial development however will require significant mobilization of long term funding from local and foreign sources.

“NASD believes that under the leadership of Mr. Oluwaseyi Abe, members of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers can rise to the forefront of addressing the challenges we face as a nation through the creation of structured equity and debt financing mechanisms that will ensure the efficient allocation of capital. With increased focus on capacity building, transparency and innovation among members of the CIS, there will be an increase in member’s contribution to Nigeria’s investment terrain”.
