Market down by 1.73% as investors suffer N163bn loss
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 1.73 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -5.39 even as investors on the Exchange recorded a loss of N163 billion on Tuesday.
The All Share Index closed at 27,098.52 against the previous close of 27,574.95 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.308 trillion against previous close of ₦9.471 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 12.17 per cent from 101.182 million to 113.499 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 16.25 per cent from ₦1.061 billion to ₦1.234 billion in 2,435 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 89.454 million shares exchanged for ₦0.671 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 14.651 million shares traded for ₦0.296 billion, Oil And Gas, Industrial Goods, Healthcare sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Zenithbank, Access, FCMB, Intbrew and UCAP were the most active stocks by volume. Presco, Wemabank, Unitybnk, Caverton and Skyebank emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Ashakacem, Aglevent, Vitafoam, CCNN and Fidson topped the losers chart.
