Market rallies back as investors recorded N40bn gain
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.43 per cent while the Year-to-Date return stood at -4.91 per cent as investors recorded a gain of N40 billion.
The All Share Index closed at 27,236.78 on Thursday against the Wednesday close of 27,120.39 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.355 trillion against previous close of ₦9.315 trillion.
Volume of the shares traded decreased by 2.75 per cent from 159.989 million to 155.592 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 1.04 per cent from ₦1.741 billion to ₦1.759 billion in 2,648 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 111.095 million shares exchanged for ₦0.486 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 17.278 million shares traded for ₦0.846 billion, Conglomerates, Etf, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
FBNH, Access, Transcorp, Diamondbnk and Unilever were the most active stocks by volume. Total, Airservice, Cadbury, Wapco and Livestock emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Maybaker, Afriprud, UAC-PROP, FO and Skyebank topped the losers chart.
