Trade volume rises by 35% on NSE as value dip by 0.23% Friday
The market closed on Friday on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in the negative territory where hovered the most part of the week as the All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.23 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -5.80 per cent.
The All Share Index closed at 26,981.60 against the previous close of 27,044.36 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.288 trillion against previous close of ₦9.289 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 34.95 per cent from 112.523 million to 151.850 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 48.56 per cent from ₦2.360 billion to ₦1.214 billion in 2,903 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 131.877 million shares exchanged for ₦0.74 billion. Conglomerates came next with 8.454 million shares traded for ₦0.012 billion, Oil And Gas, Industrial Goods, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Sterlnbank, Zenithbank, FBNH, UBA and Access were the most active stocks by volume. Wapco, Airservice, Afriprud, Flourmill and Nestle emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while Seplat, Total, UPL, Honyflour and Eterna topped the losers chart.
