NSC rules out service charge from port portal

Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has said that its Port Service Support Portal (PSSP) would not attract any fee.

The council’s Deputy Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mr. Sunday Babafemi explained that the PSSP would only accommodate complaints from stakeholders.

He urged the public to embrace the platform by using its official website.

Also, the Executive Secretary the NSC, Mr. Hassan Bello, who was represented by the Deputy Director, Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement of the agency, Mr. C.C. Agu, said that the agency’s mandate as port regulator was to reduce the cost of doing business at the ports, setting international standard practices as well as making Nigeria a regional maritime hub in African sub region.

According to him, Nigerian Shippers’ Council as a regulator is both an umpire and a referee.

The President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Chief Mrs. Nike Akande thanked NSC for making the special day a reality.

According to her, the chamber had reiterated the need for special day so as to give the regulator especially NSC the opportunity to unveil its regulatory activities.
