NSE opens weak as investors lose N41bn
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.45 per cent on Monday, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -7.18 per cent as investors in equities on The Exchange recorded a loss of N41 billion.
The All Share Index closed at 26,586.56 against the previous close of 26,707.10 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.148 trillion against previous close of ₦9.189 trillion.
Volume traded decreased by 69.93 per cent from 874.335 million to 262.897 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 60.15 per cent from ₦4.386 billion to ₦1.748 billion in 2,789 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 175.884 million shares exchanged for ₦0.867 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 76.914 million shares traded for ₦0.707 billion, Conglomerates, Oil And Gas, Healthcare sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
NASCON, UBA, Diamondbnk, Zenithbank and FBNH were the most active stocks by volume. Guinness, Jberger, Neimeth, Aglevent and Dangsugar emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while FO, NCR, MRS, Unilever and ETI topped the losers chart.
