Market decreases by 0.17% as investors lose N16bn
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index and the Market Capitalization decreased by 0.17 per cent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at -7.34 per cent.
The All Share Index closed on Tuesday at 26,540.87 against the previous close of 26,586.56 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦9.132 trillion against previous close of ₦9.148 trillion. Investors on The Exchange recorded a loss of N16 billion.
Volume traded decreased by 5.40 per cent from 262.897 million to 248.710 million, while the total value of stock traded increased by 77.55 per cent from ₦1.748 billion to ₦3.103 billion in 3,271 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 211.232 million shares exchanged for ₦1.398 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 11.058 million shares traded for ₦1.111 billion, Conglomerates, Industrial Goods, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
UBA, FBNH, Zenithbank, Guaranty and Sterlnbank were the most active stocks by volume. NASCON, NEM, Jberger, UAC-PROP and Caverton emerged the highest price gainers on the chart, while FO, Interlink, Vitafoam, UCAP and Transexpr topped the losers chart.
